To mark the forthcoming of the ‘Taittinger’ – International Signature Cuisine Prize – that will be held on the 30th of January 2024, meet Kamil Novak, candidate for the United Kingdom.

Originally from Poland, Kamil, like many Chefs, took his first steps in cooking at a very young age, following his grandmother.

With her, he prepared cakes and large family meals. Most of the products came from the garden and thus he learned something essential in cooking: the origin of the products.

After his culinary school, Kamil decided to travel to Europe to finally settle in the United Kingdom for 5 years.

He works at Dysart Petersham where he assisted Chef Kenneth Culhane in obtaining their first Michelin star.

For Kamil, the Roux Scholarship and the ‘Taittinger’ are the two biggest competitions and after being selected in one, he hopes to win the other.

He wants to follow in the footsteps of the Chef he admires the most and who won the Taittinger in 1970, Joël Robuchon.
