Vitalie Taittinger is a living embodiment of the history and values of her family. In line with this philosophy, Maison Taittinger is supporting wounded soldiers and bereaved families of the French Army by backing the “Vulnerati” charity dinner and its accompanying auction.

On February 16th, Vitalie Taittinger became the patron of the 132nd Military Dog-Handling Infantry Regiment (132nd RIC). Based in Suippes (Marne), this unit, unique of its kind in France, handles all missions related to the use of military dogs. The regiment trains inseparable human-dog teams capable of providing specialist support to infantry units in both domestic and foreign operations. This modern military dog handling “laboratory” conducts technical and tactical experiments on the use of dogs in combat.

This commitment aligns perfectly with the values of Maison Taittinger: its sense of family, its close attachment to France, its history, and its heritage. Additionally, it honours the memory of Michel Taittinger, Vitalie’s great-uncle, a young officer who died heroically for France at the age of twenty on June 15, 1940, in Saint-Parres-aux-Tertres (Aube). “This role of patron is my personal commitment to you,” Vitalie Taittinger declared to the assembled 132nd RIC. “I understand that there is no precise definition of how I am to contribute – and that’s probably just as it should be. It means that, together, we can shape my contribution in ways that are meaningful to you. I am simply here, listening to you, sharing the life of your regiment: the sorrows, the griefs, the pride, and the joys. I place myself at your service. ”

A three-year partnership

And what more natural way to continue this journey than to become a partner – and sponsor – of the Vulnerati charity dinner? Organized by the Army’s Outreach department, this prestigious event brings together prominent figures from the military and civilian worlds, as well as various partners (companies, sponsors, etc.), to raise awareness and mobilise support for wounded soldiers and bereaved families of the French Army.

“Initiated in 2021, this extraordinary gourmet meal, crafted by the star chefs of Team France (led by Thierry Marx and Guillaume Gomez), also includes an auction of grand cru wines, with all proceeds going to the Terre Fraternité/Ado association, which assists wounded soldiers and bereaved families (providing psychological support, professional reintegration, acquisitions of specific equipment, scholarships for children, etc.). For the 2024 dinner, which is to be held on June 12 at the Hôtel National des Invalides, we aim to surpass one million euros in donations over the course of four editions”, explains Lieutenant Colonel Christophe Peuchaud, a reserve officer working with the Outreach department.

Consequently, for the next three editions of the event, Maison Taittinger will provide the champagne bottles served during the cocktail preceding the dinner, and also a jeroboam of Comtes de Champagne for the auction. This is another way in which we can fully embody Taittinger’s values and support the soldiers of the French Army and their families.
